1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes the website practices of the Tampa Bay Black Chamber of Commerce (the “Chamber,” “we,” or “us”). It applies to information collected through tbbcci.org and does not control the practices of websites or services linked from this site.
Some inquiry, membership, event, directory, and newsletter forms in the current theme demonstrate the intended experience but do not yet transmit information to a Chamber delivery system. A form should not be treated as submitted unless the site provides a clear confirmation from the connected service.
2. Information we may receive
Information you choose to provide
When a connected form or service is available, you may provide details such as your name, business name, contact information, membership interest, event information, directory details, or the contents of a message.
Technical information
Our hosting, security, and WordPress service providers may automatically process technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, timestamps, requested pages, referring pages, and security logs. The site's cookie-preference tool also stores your selected categories for up to one year.
3. How information may be used
Information may be used to operate and secure the site; respond to inquiries; administer memberships, programs, events, directories, or newsletters when those services are connected; maintain records; improve Chamber communications; and comply with legal obligations.
4. When information may be shared
Information may be shared with service providers that support hosting, communications, events, membership administration, payment processing, or security; when required by law or to protect rights and safety; or as part of an organizational transition. Providers are expected to handle information only for authorized purposes.
The current Chamber theme does not add a system for selling personal information or using it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Your choices
You can use the Cookie Preferences control in the footer to accept or decline optional categories. You may also adjust browser controls, avoid optional forms, unsubscribe using instructions in a connected email service, or ask about access, correction, or deletion of information associated with you. Rights vary by location and applicable law.
6. Security, retention, and children
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information handled, but no internet transmission or storage method is completely secure. Information should be retained only as long as reasonably needed for its purpose, legal obligations, dispute resolution, and security.
This site is intended for a general business audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13 through this website.
7. Updates and contact
We may revise this policy as services or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the latest version. For a privacy question or request, use the currently available contact channel published on the Contact page.
